Father Scott, the priest at my parish, answered this question in the affirmative, God Does Exist. He said that personally he believes that God is real because of two reasons, Miracles and story of Our Lady of Lourdes and Saint Bernadette. (Scott, Father. "Does God Exist? And Why?" The first subject that he spoke of was miracles. He said that miracles were God's way of showing the world that he is here and he is loving. He gave one example of a recent miracle and ironically it was the John Paul ll miracle about the Costa Rican woman. He said that this really speaks to him because it was John Paul ll, it was recent, and it was scientifically proven that the woman with the brain aneurysm was healed. It is amazing that God can just heal a person like that and it had to be some higher figure because there is no other explanation to this.

The other proof that really pointed to the statement God is Real was Our Lady of Lourdes and Saint Bernadette. He said that these were amazing because it affected many people, the sightings kept happening to Bernadette, and the sheer number of sightings is astonishing.

Father Scott Account

The account from Father Scott gives me mostly circumstantial evidence, but some direct when he talks of the miracles. I think that Our Lady of Lourdes is circumstantially pointing to God because of the effect it left on everyone and the many occurrences and also the many lives that were immediately changed by these sightings.
