Dad's Account

My dad believes in God because of these points: the design theory, his story of his aunt, Mary Lou seeing God on the death bed, and his stories of him with a supposed guardian angel.

Design Theory: In my dad's life he looks at the world and sees the beauty on this Earth. He believes that the world is almost too perfect to be only scientifically explained. My dad said that along with this evolution is real, but he thinks that God created a subject like this.

Mary Lou: My dad's aunt died about 12 years ago and was a practicing Catholic who loved God and everything that came along with the Catholic faith. On her death bed in my grandma's house, my grandma has personal account of this, she looked straight up at the corner of the room and got up in bed. My grandma kept asking what she was doing, but she didn't answer. Then Mary Lou got a big smile on her face and fell back down and died right there. My grandma and the rest of my family believe that she saw either God or Jesus or even her dead father. That is also a huge part of why my Grandma believes in God and attends mass everyday.

Guardian Angel: My dad also has had this crazy experience occur to him many times. My dad is a doctor and he is on-call a lot, often having to go to the hospital at late hours. Sometimes when driving he has times where he is driving and then arrives at a place a doesn't remember arriving or getting to a location. Then he thinks and is in awe if how he arrived safe, if he was asleep or some other instance. He thinks that sometimes a higher figure, either God or a guardian angel is watching over him and making sure that he is safe on these late night drives. Personally I think that this is a crazy thought as I have never seen or heard of anything like this before.

This account from my dad creates some direct and also circumstantial evidence from an eye witness for me. With the stories of Mary Lou and also the guardian angels that directly gives an example of someone that I was or is close to that was touched by God. The design theory gives me circumstantial evidence that points to a higher being, God, who must've created this beautiful world because it couldn't have been made otherwise.
