Prince Siddartha Gautama=the Buddha

The four noble truths:
1. Suffering exists
2. Suffering arises from attachment to desires
3. Suffering ceases when attachment to desire cease
4. Freedom from suffering is possible by practicing the Eightfold Path.

All beings have to obligation to perform Dharma, or religious duties. Reincarnation occurs, and Karma determines what a person will return as based on their behavior in their past life. When Dharma and the Eightfold Path is completed, the goal is achieved: Nirvana, the unifying spirit.
