Otitis media

-These infections go away within 3-5 days.
-Antibiotics may be prescribed: Amoxicillin
-For severe cases grommets, tiny tubes, are inserted in the ear drum for drainage

Prevention:
-keeping up with vaccinations
-avoid smoky environments
-avoid what brings on allergies
-babies- do not lie on back while feeding, breast milk instead if formula, avoid using pacifiers
