Otitis media

Can generally be diagnosed by the provider, checking for signs of fluid using an otoscope

Further tests include:
-Tympanometry: uses air pressure to test the mobility of the Ear drum
*healthy ear moves easily, slow movement suggests fluid
-Audiometer:tests for hearing loss by producing sounds of different volumes and frequencies
-CT/MRI- rare, to check if infection may have spread in surrounding areas.
