Symbol: super hero cape
The super hero cape represents Atticus because he is a very heroic character.
(Atticus “I wanted you to see what real courage is, instead of getting the idea that courage is a man with a gun in his hand. It’s when you know you’re licked before you begin but you begin anyway and you see through it no matter what.” (Lee,112)
He is his children's everything, and they look up to him. The above quote is Atticus explaining to Scout what courage is, Scout takes his advice to heart and follows everything he says because he is her personal hero.Atticus was a hero in my eyes as well. He's an amazing example of how a father should act and how a man should follow and stand by morals, despite what others think.
_[Scout] "If you shouldn’t be defendin‘ him, then why are you doin’ it?"
_[Atticus] "For a number of reasons...The main one is, if I didn’t I couldn’t hold up my head in town, I couldn’t represent this county in the legislature, I couldn’t even tell you or Jem not to do something again." (Lee, 78)
What he did was heroic, most lawyers would not have taken the burden, even though it was their job. The colored people in the community look at him as a hero too. They appreciate him greatly for defending Tom Robinson and Atticus is Tom Robinsons hero for having faith in him.
