How Slavery developed in the American South and the origins of slavery:
Slavery originated in the North American colony of Jamestown, Virginia, in 1619. Where it brought to aid in the production of such lucrative crops as tobacco.
In the South, slavery became the main labour source. They mainly worked on tobacco, rice, and indigo plantations in the southern coast.
By 1793, Eli Whitney invented the cotton gin, which made the removal of seeds in cotton easier had increased the production of cotton and the development of slavery.
