Shakespeare open the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet using the typical form of renaissance poetry. It was read by choir before the show to have the public's attention. This sonnet is composed by three quartrains with alternate rhyme and the end is composed by rhyming couplets. This sonnet could be divided in four parts:

- The first part introduce the scene

- The second part talk about the protagonists: Romeo and Juliet

- The third part give us the idea what will happen

- The last part Shakespeare invite the public to heart the actor and to follow the tragedy.

We can also add that this sonnet anticipates the final.
