Jesus distinct role in Gods kingdom

Paraphrase: Jesus is the merciful king that has been selected out by God

The next message is that Jesus has a distinctive role in the kingdom of God. In Luke 1:32-33 an

angel told Mary that her son Jesus will be great and will be given the throne of his father David and

will reign over the house of Jacob forever. This was said before Jesus was born and when he

became older the prophesies came true and he became a king that was admired by many. This is

proven in Luke 19 when he was going to Jerusalem and the people yelled "Blessed is the king who

comes in the name of the Lord!” “Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”proving that he was

looked upon as a king.

Luke1:32-33:He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, 33 and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.”
