Non toxic. Natural timber resins are used to bind particles under high temperature and pressure. However paints and sealants have toxicity issues.

Breathability

Depending on the finish, the breathability is usually good with low condensation risk. Can encourage mould growth (by providing nutrients) if exposed to regular condensation. Breathable sarking (boarding) with a condensation cavity is strongly recommended in condensation prone climates.

Maintenance

Moderate maintenance is required. Surface and directional stability can reduce maintenance required.
