WHO IS THE COURSE SUITED FOR?

The three year Diploma course is ideal for serious students looking to become performance industry professionals in all areas of Musical Theatre. It is also relevant for those who wish to become fully qualified teachers in addition to their performance skills.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS ARE OFFERED?

The Performing Arts section of the course offers a Diploma upon completion. In addition, the BTEC qualification and A-Level English can also be completed within this course. Dance teacher training is offered through the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) with the Diploma in

Dance Instruction (DDI) and Diploma in Dance Education (DDE) qualifications which may be taken in Classical Ballet, Tap and Modern dance styles. Teacher training is also offered Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS). Completion of the Grade 8 LAMDA drama qualification provides students with a license to teach LAMDA. The BTEC, A-Level English and all teaching qualifications are optional within this course.

Vocational qualifications are offered in Dance at 'major' level (Intermediate, Advanced 1 and Advanced 2) through the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing. Drama qualifications are offered through the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (Grades 6, 7 and 8).

WHO IS THE COURSE VALIDATED BY?

The Performing Arts section of the course is validated by Italia Conti and we are currently going through accreditation with the CDET. The BTEC qualification is validated by City and Guilds and A-Level English by EdExcel. The dance teacher training section of this course is validated by the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing for the DDI and DDE qualifications. The drama teacher qualification is validated by LAMDA and the DTLLS teacher training qualification is validated by EdExcel.

WHAT IS A DIPLOMA?

The Diploma course provides practical training to students relevant to the subject of study by providing the skills and knowledge needed to prepare them for furture professional work in their chosen industry.
