TREATMENT
Parkinson's disease cannot be cured, but there are medicine that can help with handling symptoms.
Medications:
Medications can help manage problems with walking, movement and tremor by increasing the brains supply of dopamine.
Carbidopa-levadopa: this is the most effective Parkinson's disease medication. It protects premature conversion of dopamine outside your brain. Years after the diagnosis, this drug will become less effective. You may experience side effects like motion sickness and lightheadedness. If symptoms worsen, your doctor will reduce your intake of the drug.
Other drugs include:
▫️ Dopamine agonists
▫️ MAO-B inhibitors
▫️COMT inhibitors
▫️Anticholinergics
▫️Amantadine
Surgery is also another viable option.
