RISK FACTORS/ PROTECTIVE FACTORS

Coffee and Tea: drinking either has been associated with a lower risk. Caffeine has direct effects on the brain and may help PD.


Uric acid or urate: this chemical occurs naturally in the blood. Researchers have concluded that men with a higher Uric acid have a lower risk factor of PD. a drug that increases urate in blood is being undergoes in a clinical study.


Anti-inflammatory drugs: people who take anti inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen have a lower sick of PD. It helps reduce inflammation .


Smoking: research has shown people who smoke cigarettes had a decreased risk of Parkinson's disease. Nicotine helps prevent it,


Vitamin D: people witch higher vitamin d levels have a lower risk of the disease.


Exercise and lifting weight


Herbs

Age: about one percent of people have developed Parkinson's disease. People under the age of 45 is 0.001 percent.


Gender: Parkinson's is more common in men than women.


Head injury: traumatic brain injuries have been associated with the increase of Parkinson's years after the injury. It can provoke infiltration of the brain.


Area of residence: Parkinson's prevalence is higher in the Inuit population in Denmark. They are exposed to organic pollutants that may cause it.


Occupation: the relationship between welding and PD is under investigation. Studies have shown that welding causes some PD symptoms. Agriculture and industrial jobs are also related to PD due to extensive amount of toxic exposure.
