- Forces affect motion in plants and they respond to the force of gravity or turgor pressure.

- Water in a plant cell makes an effective force, called turgor pressure, that pushes out on the cell wall. The ability of a plant to maintain a strong upright position & to return to that position when blown by the wind and is the result of the force exerted by water within every plant cell.
