7.12C Organization in Plants and Animals

- The structure of plants and animals can be ordered into different types of levels, each have a specific function, beginning with the smallest & ending at the largest.

- in groups of cells,the smallest unit in plants and animals,create the tissue and the tissues with the most similar structures and functions create organs

- All organisms have cells, from just one cell to thousands. the Water is more than two-thirds of the weight of a cell, which gives cells many properties. In multicellular organisms, specialized cells perform special functions. Organs and organ systems are composed of cells and function to serve the needs of organisms for food, air, and removal of waste.

- The structure of plants and animals can be ordered into levels, each having certain functions, beginning with the smallest, least complex, the cell, to tissues, organs, organ systems, to the largest level , most complex.

- Groups of cells form tissues.

- Tissues with similar structures & functions form organs. Organ systems are various organs working together.
