Conservation of Charge.

The electric charge is conserved, meaning it doesn't get created or destroyed.

Electrons are transferred from one atom to another.

Neutral atoms do not have a certain charge. The number of protons and electrons are the same.

If a neutral atom loses an electron, then it becomes positively charged. (More protons)

Charged atoms are called
ions.
