Mara talked about tyrants who made the mistake of killing there wise thinkers or rulers. In his writings scholars believe that Jesus is being referenced as "wise king". Mara thought there was a connection between his death and then destruction of Jewish nation by the Romans. He then wrote that the teachings of the wise king lived on through the generations of his followers.
