Gametes are produced by a process called meiosis. Meiosis has 2 rounds of genetic perpetration and cellular division while mitosis only has 1 of each. Gametes have half of the chromosomes number of the other adult cells of an organism. A main feature about meiosis is the exchange of chromosomes pieces which occurs in the first division of the process.
