North Carolina's ecosystems are affected by overfishing which causes an imbalance in the food chain there. Also coal mining in the mountains creates these harmful fumes and gases that are released into the air and that cause pollution.
Farming affects the ecosystems because hog farms create a lot of waste that can eventually reach different parts of the ecosystem. If it pollutes the water it could potentially harm animals that inhabit the waters. Also the chemicals used in farming often can pollute the waters.
