The Battle of Gettysburg was a victory for the union. The Union won for three reasons. First, the northerns had a good vantage point in Cemetery Ridge. The second reason was because Picket's Charge failed so miserably. The third reason that the Union won was because it was on their turf. It gave the troops more moral.
