Mozart's is not, in fact, Wolfgang Amadeus, but Johannes Chrysostomus Wolfgang Theophilus Mozart. Amadeus is just a latinization of Theophilus.

St. Peter's Cemetery is a historic cemetery, said to be holding a murderer and his six victims. This in known as the legend of the Seven Crosses.

In 1774, an 18 year old Mozart wrote a letter to his sister asking her to give his "kindest regards... [and] love" to a mysterious "virgin" woman. It was later discovered that he wrote this as a joke, fore the aforementioned woman was 46 years older than him and the family's landlady.

Salzburg boasts the oldest zoo in the world, Salzburg Zoo Hellbrunn.
