June 25, 1862

• The Seven Days' Battle started at Oak Grove when General McClellan tried to bring his cannons within range of Richmond.


• The Confederates successfully resisted the Union advance.


• When darkness caused the fighting to stop on that day, McClellan's troops had only gained about 600 yards. Both sides suffered more than 1,000 casualties.
