• Description: young girl, small dog, four pieces of blue
furniture
• Analysis: Space is shown by the two chairs in the
foreground overlapping the furniture in the back. The
furniture in the back was also made smaller than the
chairs in the foreground. The objects in the back are also darker than the objects in the front. The little girl and her
chair are the lightest things in the whole picture. The texture of the furniture gives it a plush look and the intense
turquoise really makes all of the furniture pop out.
• Interpretation: The focus of the entire piece is on the little girl because even though she is not directly in the
center, she is much brighter than everything else. Her relaxed posture shows her age and her face is exactly what
young girl her age's face would be. You can tell that what is going on in the picture is boring because the dog is
sound asleep and the girl is sprawled out on the chair comfortably with an unsatisfied look on her face.
• Judgement: I think this is a great piece even though the subject matter is a bit boing, even though boring is the
feeling that is being portrayed though it. The posture and emotions on the girl's face are very accurate, as that is
how I would imagine a bored, young girl sitting. The bright, vibrant colors draw my eye around this piece and it
looks very realistic.
