(Clause 1) Power & term: This clause gives the president broad "executive power". This power allows the president to enforce the laws & administer public policy. Also, sets the limit on terms of office.


(Clause 2) Electoral college: Establishes the electoral college. It's a body of presidential electors chosen in each state and it selects the president & Vice President every 4 years. The number of electors is chosen equal to the number of senators and representatives that state has in congress.

(Clause 3) Election of president & Vice President: Clause was replaced by the 12th amendment in 1804.


(Clause 4) Date: Congress has a set date of choosing electors as the Tuesday after the first Monday of November every 4th year. The casting of electoral votes is the Monday after the 2nd Wednesday of December of that year.


(Clause 5) Qualifications: The president must have been born a citizen of the US, be at least 35 years old, and have been a resident of the US for at least 14 years.


(Clause 7) Compensation: The president now receives a salary of $400,000 and a taxable expense account of $50,000 a year.
