Ho Chi Minh
What caused conflict
At the end of World War II Viet Minh seized northern Vietnamese of Hanoi and announced it as a democratic state of Vietnam with Ho Chi Minh as president. They later became allies with the United States. Ho Chi Minh did not want his country ruled by a foreign power. He started a rebellion against France which caused France to withdraw from France in 1954. Vietnam divided, but later came together as a communist nation.
