Indirect extinction

A type of Extinction similar to Natural Extinction but is sped up slowly from a slow growing source. This can be caused from new predators slowly moving into new territory, or from new competition coming into the territory of a species.

The Dodo Bird is a great example of indirect extinction because it had no natural predators, but when humans came on to their islands, they brought other animals which hunted and took the bird's food. This resulted in the gradual extinction of the Dodo.
