- A source immediately affects a species 

- It's a type of natural extinction but it's sped up by a source 

- Ex: predators lack of food, hunting, new diseases

The quagga, a type of zebra, went extinct because of human hunting them. Which would be direct activity because it's a source that immediately afaaects a species.
