Cranial Cavity

After we finished the Thoracic Cavity, we moved on to the Cranial. In order to begin this procedure, we had to flip the pig onto its stomach to start the incision. We started at the front of the forehead, and worked our way back towards the tail. In order to dissect the brain, we had to pry apart the sides of the skin to get to the scull, a hard outer covering of the brain. After we cut all of this out, we were able to feel the brain which was similar to oatmeal. The last thing we had to do, was locate the spinal cord. We pulled apart the sides of the skin and cut deep enough, to feel the spinal cord. With a lot of digging, we finally found it.
