Abdominal Cavity
Continuing on, we made several vertical and horizontal cuts to make the pig's skin open and fall down sideways like flaps. Using scissors, we cut through the tougher second layer of skin. We used the probes to pull apart the flaps and make them fall over. Next, we located all of the parts, naming them and familiarizing ourselves with them. We then cut out the liver, one of the largest parts of the abdominal cavity. Continuing on, we cut out the stomach, and then cut it open the contents. Inside the stomach were brown lumps and a not-so-clear liquid. We continued and later cut out the kidneys, the small intestine, the large intestine, and the pancreas.
