Image 3: Leaving the Culture Behind

The atmosphere of Earth is a layer of gases surrounding the planet Earth that is retained by Earth's gravity. The atmosphere protects life on Earth by absorbingultraviolet solar radiation, warming the surface through heat retention (greenhouse effect), and reducing temperature extremes between day and night (the diurnal temperature variation). The common name given to the atmospheric gases used in breathing andphotosynthesis is air. By volume, dry air contains 78.09% nitrogen, 20.95% oxygen,[1]0.93% argon, 0.039% carbon dioxide, and small amounts of other gases.

I feel like one of the hardest things that my mom had to do when she migrated to America was that she had to leave her filipino culture behind. Filipinos are very fun, spirit-filled human beings who have many types of traditions. They have many events that take place in groups—like parades, or fiestas, etc. At these gatherings, everyone would most likely already know each other and get to bond more. Moving to America meant having to let go of her filipino community to be apart of a more diverse country.
