Climate

The climate of the Himalayas is subtropical. Evergreen rain forests cover most of the eastern and central Himalayan country. Trees that are often found in the Himalayas are oak, poplar, elm, laurel, maple, birch, alder, and magnolia. Vegetation such as bamboo, tall grasses, orchids, and balsams grow. There is over 4,000 species of flowers and 10,000 species of plants.
