Paul Jobs - Paul was Steve's adoptive father. Paul taught Steve how to build things, how to take things apart, and put them back together again. Paul's craftsmanship and attention to detail were impressed upon Steve, who was devoted to perfection as an adult.

Imogene "Teddy" Hill - Imogene Hill was Steve Jobs' fourth grade teacher. She recognized early on that Steve was special, and gave him special attention. Jobs later said "she was one of the saints in my life... Without her I probably would have gone to jail." She bribed him into doing more and better work, and soon he stopped needing bribes.
