Robert Frost
Acquainted with the night. (analysis)
In acquainted with the night, Frost is expressing his depression and loneliness. He walk the streets at night and never finds anything that can bring him some sort of comfort. When he sees the watchman he refuses to express his depression because he knows that no one can understand. As he continues to walk he hears a distant cry and knows that its not for him because he acknowledges that no one will ever call for him or wait for him. He looks at the moon in the sky and thinks about suicide because to him, time has no meaning because his isolation is forever unending.
