Born Robert Lee Frost, was born in San Francisco. His mother Isabelle Moodie was an immigrant from Scotland and his father William Prescott Frost was a journalist.

His first poem was sold in 1894 for $15 (which is $410 in todays currency) it was called ‘My Butterfly. An Elegy’

He got married to Elinor White after she finished college.

Frost attended Harvard University from 1897 to 1899 and had to leave because of an illness
