Self-pollination asexual reproduction in plants is very
common but in animals it is very rare. (Exclusive to very few species)
After all, asexual reproduction would seem a more efficient way to reproduce. Sexual reproduction requires males but they themselves do not produce offspring.
Plants can use their stem, leaves and roots for asexual rep. Or they can also perform apomixis through their seeds.
Explain the role of heredity on the development of of plant and animal offspring.(Diego)
For sexual reproduction in plants it's almost exactly like animal reproduction.
A mature plant contains an egg/s which can be pollinated by the pollen from another plant which contains the sperm nuclei.
Most farmers after selective breeding cover the plant to inhibit pollination from other male plants.wa
