The Cretaceous–Paleogene (K–Pg) extinction event,formerly known as theCretaceous–Tertiary (K–T) extinction,[b] was a mass extinction of some three-quarters of plant and animal species on Earth—including all non-avian dinosaurs—that occurred over a geologically short period of time 66 million years ago. It marked the end of theCretaceous period and with it, the entire Mesozoic Era, opening the Cenozoic Era which continues today.

Project MKUltra was a project rumoured to be funded by the CIA from 1953 to 1973. This project was established sometime after the end of World War II, when the United States wanted to create a worldwide intelligence-gathering operation which could be used for countering terrorism. The main goal was to create a mind control system or truth serum which would allow the CIA to program people into conducting assassinations. The experiments involved drugs, hypnosis, sensory deprivation, abuse and torture.
