Pine needle

This is a picture of a pine needle at 10x magnification. There are many vascular cells in this picture, they are the long thin black ones. There are some mesophyll and palisade cells seen at the top of the picture, they are green. The ecology of the pine needle is important because when they fall of the tree they help the soil.
