The scientific name for trout is Oncorhynchus mykiss.The brown trout lives in streams. They need clean gravel to lay their eggs on. They need cold water and shelter too hide from predators. The land around the stream that dumps water in the stream is called a watershed.,the trout is affected by what happens in the water shed. Trout also live in freshwater lakes. They eat fish eggs, other fish, insects, flies, leeches, and worms. They most commonly look for hatches of bugs on top of the water and also under the water. When salmon eggs are in season they will look for them too eat.
