The scientific name of a salmon is Salmonidae.

Salmon live in streams, river, lakes, and seas. If they are in fresh water, they prefer to be by gravel, boulders, and cobbles. They return back to the original feeding grounds every year to lay their off spring. They like places with grassy banks and places with over hangs. They eat insects, plankton, other fish, squid, eels, and shrimp.
