WIDOW’S PEAK

Aivy

Data and Information

A widow’s peak is a V-shape at the hairline that is likely controlled by genes. The allele for a widow’s peak is typically represented with a w.

A widow’s peak is also a dominant trait that could be represented with WW and Ww, a study shows that only 42% of the overall population has a widow’s peak, and in the random group of 45 people we surveyed, only 16 of them had a widow’s peak (36%). Two out of the three families in my group had less family members with a widow’s peak than without. Since some people only have slight widow’s peaks, the data of the overall population can have some different outcomes.
