DIMPLES

Jenna

Data and Information

Dimples are an indentation on the cheeks that are controlled by genes. The allele for dimples is usually represented with a d.

Dimples are an irregular dominant trait that can be represented with DD and Dd. Studies show that only 26% of the whole population has dimples along with the 45 people we surveyed, only 20 of them had dimples. Even though dimples are a recessive trait, two out of the three families in my group had more people that had dimples. Sometimes dimples can fade over time so the overall population that has dimples can vary.
