Cholera Outbreak 1854 (cont.)

What is the Evidence?

There was many clues and pieces of evidence that support this claim. Ausley and Marthy Brown and their two children were the only people who did not contract cholera on their street. They hauled their water from the Soho pump. So obviously, the water from that pump was not contaminated. Another clue we had was a boy named Tolly Martin getting into a fight with another boy. He washed blood from his mouth from the Broad Street pump, and died two days later. Also, we saw that adults and children who died lived near the Broad Street pump. Most poor families hauled their water from the closest source.
