Autism was discovered by Leo Kanner in 1943. The discovery took place in the country of Germany. Leo Kanner proved the existence of autism by finding 11 cases of a unique disorder unlike anything ever reported. Amazingly, a boy was thought to have autism in 1748, long before Leo Kanner, but nothing was proven until he found the answer to a question that was 195 years old.
