Affects of Autism

When a baby with autism is born, at a certain age, it will have communication issues and often repeat actions over and over again. On the autism spectrum, some are more affected than others. People higher on the spectrum have mild challenges, while people lower on the spectrum experience more severe symptoms.

The system autism connects with is the central nervous system. When a baby is born with autism, genetic factors and defects are most likely the cause. The nervous system is affected because these defected genes cause severe damage to the brain. Damage can include defects in the brain's communication and activity control centers. This results in a lack of learning to speak, and repetitive body movements a child takes pleasure in.

This is an autistic baby refusing to make eye contact with the camera lens.
