The age of Exploration had several groundbreaking advancements, such as  new ships and sails, that allowed the ships to withstand the unpredictable storms in deep waters. There were also several navigational instruments that were invented, such as magnetic compass and astrolabes. Another key innovation was the discovery of wind and currents,and sailors were able to utilize the natural directions of the sea.
