The Monroe Doctrine allowed the United States to exert control over the Latin American Countries through their strong imperialism. Instability and disorder prompted the new imperial power to intervene in affairs of the Caribbean and Central America and to protect U.S. Land and territory. This protected mostly against rebellion and reform from other countries.
