My experiences in High School have prepared me for cases in which I would have to work with other people. But, the reason I came to this decision of having a career in Special Education is when I would help tutor my neighbor who has autism. It felt so good to know that I was helping her grasp a better understanding in school. In a way I was helping make it a little easier for her and by her feeling great I felt great. Someone I know also used to work in the Special Education field and her work helped me see that teaching was a field that I definitely want to go into as well. Hopefully throughout the rest of my high school career I can get better insight into the work of Special Education.
