Red Cloud was born in 1822 in what is now called Nebraska. He was a chief of the Oglala Lakota tribe. He fought hard to keep the land of his people. He was raised by his mother's uncle and became a warrior at a young age. Red Cloud married Pretty Owl and had children. He died on December 10, 1909.
