Red Cloud is well known by his comfrontations with the U.S. governtment. He is most famous for Red Cloud's War. He refused to sign several treaties with the U.S. government. The U.S. was building new forts along the trail of Fort Laramine.These new forts angered Red Cloud. The U.S. government sent in reinforcements. Red Cloud and his warriors showed the government how powerful they were and slaughtered many soldiers that went against him.
