Safavids
The Safavids had a state religion of Shi'a Islam. As opposed to the other empires, they did suppress other forms of Islam and wanted a pure religion through out their territory.
Religious Differences
Ottomans
The Ottoman Empire was based on the religion of Islam and. Islamic Beliefs. What made them so successful, however, was the allowance of other religions. For example, Christianity also had a lasting effect on the empire.
Mughals
The main rulers of the Mughals were Muslim, but they lead a predominately Hindu society. They were fairly open about it though and did not suppress them, as many Hindus climbed the political ladder themselves.
